You’re busy, you’re tired, and you’re late for work! You don’t have anything on hand for breakfast so you either skip it or you grab some fast food on the way to work. Either way you feel groggy, and tired for the rest of the day. You get home from work and you’re steady go until you final crash before having to get up and do it all again. A lot of people are in the same boat, they miss the first meal of the day or just eat junk instead. Taking 2 minutes to prepare your breakfast the night before can save you from feeling drained and starving the next day.
I love to sleep. So anywhere I can squeeze in a few more minutes of sleep is great. Spending a few minutes before bed preparing breakfast saves me quite a bit of time in the morning. I get up, grab it and go. It keeps me full until lunch time and I actually have energy. Physically and mentally!
I don’t typically measure ingredients. I usually just eye it. So the following measures are approximate and also depend on your consistency and flavour preferences.
In Mason jar combine:
1/2 cup of oats
1 tbsp of chia seeds
2-3 tbsp of hemp seeds
1.5 tbsp peanut butter
2/3 cup of almond milk
Stir or shake to combine and leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours. I usually do the night before so it is in the fridge for about 8-9 hours. These oats will be good in the fridge for up to 5 days, so they can be made in bulk to have a full week of breakfasts on hand.
After oats have thickened you can add nuts, seeds, berries, bananas, etc.
