We all have room to grow. For those of you interested in bettering yourself, there are self-help books for just about anything you can think of!
I like to read self-help books in any free time I have. They keep me learning and motivated. Here are a few of my favourites so far. I will update as I come across more.
Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself by Dr. Kristin Neff
This book is great for changing how to think about and talk to yourself. It is all about loving yourself and not expecting perfection. It will help you treat yourself as you would treat a friend, being supportive and kind. Self-compassion is having compassion for yourself through difficult times, recognize that you are going through a tough time and treat yourself with kindness.

Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial by Tony Robbins
I love this book!! This one is the most life-changing for me personally.
Awaken the Giant Within is about controlling all aspects of your life and using all factors of life to your advantage.
It is all about reaching your best state mentally, emotionally, physically, & financially. My favourite section is all about dealing with, interpreting and controlling your emotions and thoughts. It talks about how our emotions tell us more than just how we feel, they tell us what needs to change and what we need to do if we just look a little deeper into them.
If you are at all interested in becoming a better you, the best you, you need to read this book.

Anticancer: A New Way Of Life by Dr. David Servan-Schreiber
Not totally a self-help book however it is a lifestyle book that focuses on healthy living. The title can be off setting- it does focus on preventing and fighting cancer. However the base of that is anti-inflammatory so it helps with general health, and controlling any other inflammatory conditions. This book has different sections focusing on diet, mental health, exercise, and environment and how each of these effect inflammation in your body.

The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts by Gary Chapman
This book is based around the fact that different people feel love in different ways. So even though you feel love when your partner does things around the house for you(Acts of Service), your partner may feel more love when you give them compliments(Words of Affirmation). So it will help you show your spouse love in a way that they will feel it.
We received this book as a wedding present, although I had already listened to it on audible I was super excited to have a gorgeous hard copy. So, if you know anyone getting married this is also a great wedding gift idea!
This book focuses on marriage but can also be applied to any other relationship as well; there are specific books for other relationships such as The 5 Love Languages of Children, The 5 Love Languages of Teenagers, and many others that can be found here.
