Meditation: Meditation for Beginners

Meditation can help you deal with the daily chaos of life.

Do you feel like the world around you is going too fast and you can’t possibly keep up? How do you deal with this? Does it make you feel overwhelmed and defeated?  Do you wish you could just do something to calm your mind?

Meditation is the best thing that can help you in those times of turmoil. That’s it. Sit down and clear your mind.

Okay, so, it’s not quite that easy. Meditation definitely takes time, self-control and practice. But like anything else it is something that can be learned.

Meditation has significantly changed my life. It changed how well I sleep, how I view and deal with every day issues and how I am now able to truly relax, just to name a few.

But it can also help you with almost any issue you may be dealing with or wanting to change.

Just to name a few, meditation can help with:

-Feeling of loss of control
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Self-love
-Motivation
-Sleep
-Perspective

Life is much easier when you take care of your mind and change your perspective. You can then focus on other aspects of life more thoroughly with a clearer understanding of how to proceed.

Before I ever started meditating my mind was constantly going 1000 miles per minute. Especially when I would go to bed, that was when it was the worst. I would try to figure out what I was doing tomorrow, worrying about what happened today, trying to figure everything out all at once. It used to regularly take me 2 hours to fall asleep because my brain would not slow down.

Until I finally decided I was going to do something to change it.

Meditation didn’t come naturally to me, I had to try time and time again until my mind truly started to grasp the concept, slow down and release everything that it was trying to organize.   Meditation helped me trust myself; trust that I will do what I need to do tomorrow, because I obviously cannot do anything about it now. Right now is time for me to relax and recharge.

I now fall asleep quicker and better than before meditation.

My favourite go-to technique is focusing on breathing in deep and out deep. On breathing in, picture breathing in all that is good in your life, good feelings, good people, things you are excited about, etc. On breathing out, picture breathing out any negative feelings, negative people, etc.

You can use this frame of mind before going to sleep or at any point during the day to calm yourself, and change your perspective to deal with what is at hand.

Headspace is a fabulous app that truly simplifies meditation.

You can also find many guided meditations on YouTube, catered to any specific issue you would like to change.

Meditation will help clear your mind and you will be able to restart and focus on what is truly important in life.
